At International Montessori School, the Toddler Program is the first step in a life-long love of learning. Toddler classrooms serve children ages 18 month to three years old. At this age, a child is naturally curious and eager to learn. Our highly experienced and trained faculty and staff are ready to guide your child on a journey of discovery using a full complement of specially designed learning materials in a warm, home-like, safe and beautiful environment.
Classroom activities foster coordination, control of movement, concentration and independence. The young child is naturally drawn to the activities of everyday life. As children happily repeat these activities, refining their coordination and experiencing success, they become more independent in their ability and desire to care for themselves and their environment. Toddlers independently set the table for snack, mix muffin batter, wash dishes, wipe up their spills and sponge off tables. Children choose fine motor activities, acquire toileting independence, paint and enjoy music together. Language development is a high priority in the Toddler class.
PRIMARY
3 - 7 y.o.
Primary classroom serves children ages 3 to 7 in beautiful, quiet, harmonious and sunlit environment that is carefully designed for children to learn by doing which is necessary for success in their future. Our highly trained faculty and specially designed materials maximize the development of academic skills as well as creativity and character development.
Beginning in the Primary program, all areas of study are integrated. Children are guided to use their natural powers of discovery to develop meaningful skills in math, reading and handwriting, geography, science, culture, sensory development, the arts and life skills. Classes are large enough to provide a dynamic social environment, yet the one-to-one or small group lessons allow your child to thrive academically. Teachers intensely follow the interests of each child, presenting carefully designed lessons and materials as the child is ready.
